From 2021 to earlier this year, when I returned to a full-time staff position, I worked as a full-time freelance writer. In that time, I learned a lot about pitching editors — what works and what doesn’t. Occasionally, other writers would reach out to me asking for advice and examples, so I made a document of Pitches That Got a Yes.
